Young Writers' Workshop

Twenty-three of our most able students, from Key Stage 3, were invited to attend the Young Writers' workshop facilitated by Explore Learning on behalf of the Young Writers' Award. 

Four of our students from Years 8 and 9 were awarded with a medal and certificate for being a top ten regional finalist. One of our Year 8 students, Christian Agwu, made it to the final top ten list in the country.

Students used Michael Morpurgo's War Horse as a stimulus for an independent creative writing piece. Students learnt why he wrote War Horse and utilised both pictorial and media clips as inspiration for an anthropomorphic piece.
