The Peckham Privilege - LEAP in Action

Dear Parent/Carer

Welcome to the Peckham Privilege!

At Harris Academy Peckham we believe that every child deserves a special right to world class experiences within their everyday learning environments at the academy.

The package on offer to our students is to provide an extended education beyond what others may receive and to ensure that we can achieve successful outcomes and provide abundant opportunities.

Through the Peckham Privilege, we are able to ensure that every child can enhance their Leadership, Enquiry, Aspiration and Perseverance skills through our overarching LEAP ethos, which will ensure they are equipped to become successful adults in the future.

IMG 037Classical instruments and tuition for free

As soon as the doors open to our Year 7 students here at Harris Academy Peckham, the Peckham Privilege will ensure that every child is entitled to:

  • free instrumental lessons to all students in Years 7,8 and 9 including violin, flute, trumpet, piano and many more, through our fantastic music department, offered with the support of Music in Secondary Schools Trust in Music (MIIST). This could lead to students playing musical instruments at GCSE
  • the opportunity to showcase their talents. Our students have recently had the opportunity to perform at the Drury Lane Theatre, Roundhouse, The Queen Elizabeth Hall and other prestigious venues

Our students love the Performing Arts at Peckham.

Magical breakfasts at the start of each day

Every child needs to start the day with a magical breakfast. We serve free breakfasts to all students from 7.30 to 8.20am.

Send your child in early to Harris Academy Peckham for the most important meal of the day!

  • Crumpets
  • Toast
  • Bagels
  • Cereals

This will ensure that your child is on time to the academy every day but more importantly, they are ready for learning, mentally and physically, which can only bring fulfilment to their day.
