British Library visit
On Tuesday 28th June 14 students from year 8 and 9 visited “Shakespeare in Ten Acts” at the British Library. The exhibition celebrates the 400th anniversary of the famous playwright, poet and actor. Detailed models, the earliest printed edition of Hamlet from 1603, photographs and stunning costumes made history come alive. Students took part in a series of activities, exploring how Shakespeare’s plays hold up a mirror to the era in which they were performed, raising questions on race, power and gender.
