Fuel Theatre visit the Academy
On Thursday 8th October Fuel Theatre came into the Academy to perform to Year 11 GCSE Drama students. Fuel Theatre performed award winning The 14th Tale. The 14th Tale has toured nationally, and internationally. It also ran at the National Theatre.
It was an exuberant and touching autobiographical tale that charts the hilarious exploits of a natural born mischief growing up from the clay streets of Nigeria to the roof tops of Dublin, and finally to London.
Year 11’s thoroughly enjoyed this one man show and were amazed at how the actor was able to portray more than one character with ease.
After the hour performance students were then given the opportunity to talk to the actor and director of the piece about the acting and directing process as well as the performance piece.
Quotes from students:
“I really enjoyed the play, I thought it was a true portrayal of what it’s like to be a young person living in London today”. Tyrelle Lodge-Guy 11Y1
“I liked the fact that we got the chance to speak with the actor and director after the show, as I was able to ask questions on how someone would go about going into the performing arts industry from someone other than our teacher”. Mosebolatan Abidoye 11B1
