Year 8 Finalists in Taxonomy Competition

The science department participated recently in a workshop facilitated by The Linnean Society, entitled Twisted Taxonomy.   

Six Year 8 Harris Academy Peckham students (pictured below) submitted brilliant works and were amongst the finalists chosen by a panel of prestigious judging panel including professional artists, scientist, and educators. Over 1500 entries from different schools in London were entered for this competition. 

The Biomedia Meltdown project, run by the Linnean Society, brings natural history to life through cross-curricular learning. Their projects connect young, curious minds to biology and natural history through innovative art techniques. The Linnean Society of London is the world’s oldest active biological society.
