Euston Tower Visit
On Friday 3rd March 5 Year 10 Business Studies students went to the Euston Tower in London for a business session run by Enabling Enterprise and Atkins. The day was centred around engineering and exposing students to the engineering industry. The students were taken on a tour of the building and were able to speak to various employees about what their jobs entailed. One worker who spoke to the students showed them how she made the maps which were visible around London. After this, the students then had to work together on an engineering project. The team name they chose was ‘Zone Two.’ They had to look at the needs of the local environment and then respond by developing a community project that would help to resolve these needs and wants. The five students worked extremely well as a team and all took it in turns to lead various tasks. They developed a really good model using their design skills and business skills, and the name of the model was ‘Pyramid Square.’ After this, they had to present their ideas in a one minute pitch to four individual judges which explained their project.
