British Film Institute Visit - 8th February 2017
On Wednesday 8th February 20 Year 8 and 9 students visited the British Film Institute. They studied some famous French short films in the morning and analysed various filming techniques.
During the morning session, they thoroughly enjoyed applying their knowledge of French and put it into the context of cinema.
Our students were sat in a big theatre at the BFI with students from many other school, and they showed outstanding knowledge and confidence when speaking publicly. The morning session gave students a little taste of a university-style lecture. In the afternoon we watched a full-length French film – “Neuilly sa mère”- a film that talks about class division from the eyes of a young boy. Students found the day incredibly useful, both the morning and the afternoon session as the got to experience French through a different medium.
