British Library visit
On Tuesday 11th October 13 students from Years 7 to 10 visited the British Library.
The library has a grand collection of ancient and extraordinary artefacts, mainly books from across the globe. Students were fascinated by the tall glass tower of books in The King’s Library which is a collection of thousands of books collated by King George III who reigned from 1760 - 1820. Although students were not allowed in the magnificent structure they really did appreciate the opportunity to marvel in its presence.
The workshop titled ‘Research Matters’ was helpful in getting our students to consider the importance of conducting research and gain understanding in the process of carrying out research, including some of the stumbling blocks. Students also participated in activities to demonstrate their ability to conduct their own research based around artefacts in the library gallery.
