Imperial College visit
On Monday 22 February 7 Year 13 Science students visited Imperial College London. There they carried out two experiments. The first experiment used gel electrophoresis to separate out amino acid fragments. The second experiment used a solvent extraction to remove iodine molecules from seaweed. The students learnt many new skills including how to carry out a serial dilution, electrophoresis and how to use a separating funnel. All the students successfully completed this section of their coursework assignment and thoroughly enjoyed their day.
