Guest Speaker - David Dein

On Thursday 19th November students from GCSE, BTEC and A Level Business as well as students from A Level Economics and GCSE and BTEC PE had the fantastic opportunity of hearing David Dein speak.
 
The former vice chairman of Arsenal and former vice chairman of the FA spent over an hour talking to students about his role in creating the Premier League, now regarded as the greatest sporting attraction in the world.
Students heard how David’s idea started and the steps he took in making it a success. Students learnt valuable lessons about the role of attitude and behaviour in determining their own successes.

Possibly the most pertinent part of the talk was the lesson that ‘whilst you cannot change your beginnings, you can create a new ending for your story’. Directly relatable to some of our students own life experiences David provided an inspirational lesson in the importance of hard work, dedication and courage.
