Year 7 King's Scholars Spend Day at University
Our Year 7 King's Scholars spent the day at King's College London recently discovering more about what it is like to study at university.
They met student ambassadors from King's and enjoyed touring the campus as well as having fun playing table tennis at lunchtime and meeting the King's mascot, Reggie the Lion (pictured below).
King's Scholars is a three-year programme of activities supporting the educational pathways of year 7-9 pupils from eight London schools, including Harris Academy Peckham.
During their time on the King's Scholars programme, HAP students will attend workshops both at King's College Strand Campus and in school. These will be targeted to help students learn and use metacognitive skills (learning about learning) to help their studies and navigate their journey to university and beyond. The workshops will also encourage students to build their 'soft skills' in teamwork, creativity and public speaking.
Scholars of the day were Fawaz and Amaru for their enthusiasm and participation throughout the day.
Well done everyone!
