Year 7 Write Letters in French
Roihanna, Year 7, reports of a project to encourage students to write about themselves in French.
This half term, our French teacher, Ms Formaioni, has been teaching us how to talk about ourselves in French. We have learnt how to greet and introduce ourselves as well as describe our personality and physical appearance, state our names, birthdays and ages.
We have even learnt how to spell our names with the French alphabet. We have also learnt some French grammar like feminine and masculine words. For example, ‘belle’ and ‘beau’ both mean ‘beautiful’ but belle is when describing a female and beau for males.
Our big end of term project was writing a letter in French. This will be sent to and replied by another fellow Year 7 student studying French in another academy within Harris Federation. This is a great way to get used to communicating in French.
All these skills we have learned helped us write a letter. Ms Formaioni said it would be fun and I think it was a very fun experience as I got to express myself in a different language. I enjoyed it a bit more than I thought I would!
