Architecture Day for HAP Geographers
Thank you NLA (New London Architecture) for hosting our geography students recently. They experienced careers presentations, speed mentoring and an architectural photography workshop, culminating in an exhibition at the Barbican Centre.
The programme provided a unique opportunity for the industry to engage the next generation of city-makers and promote diversity and accessibility to the industry. The day brought future career opportunities to life through engaging workshops and mentoring led by industry leaders from across the public and private sectors.
Students heard from senior leaders in their field about their career journey and pathways into the industry and had the opportunity to speak 1-1 with young professionals from across the built environment industry, finding out what subjects they studied at school, projects they have worked on and challenges they have faced.
Students then worked with professional architectural photographers on a workshop around the Barbican site, creatively responding to a design brief exploring the macro and micro scale of public space. This culminated in an exhibition that LREF delegates will view at the conference closing reception.
