Year 10 visit to Cabinet Office

On the afternoon of Monday 11 May I accompanied ten Year 10 students to the Cabinet Office for their second visit to the Youth Involvement Programme. They began by taking part in a team quiz, the students proved to be quite knowledgeable about our government and how it the country is run. They then went round the boardroom style table in turn asking the mentors inquisitive questions which allowed us all to gain a greater knowledge into the life of a Civil Servant. For the remainder of the afternoon the students split up to have their mentoring sessions. Walking around I could see that the student mentor relationships were already developing, I’m looking forward to seeing the student’s confidence grow in the weeks to come. They showed to be a huge asset to the Academy and should all be very proud of themselves.
