Edit, Design, Promote, Sell – Workshop on Careers in Publishing

HAP Penguin 3We love reading books, but most of us are unaware how much work goes into publishing one.

The lovely staff from Penguin Random House gave a brief introduction to the work involved during a recent workshop, and students developed ideas of how to promote, design and sell a book too.

Social media, such as TikTok, was a popular suggestion to reach out to a younger audience. Hiqmat, Year 9, was impressed by the variety of careers publishing has to offer; from legal advice to editing and design.

The complimentary copy of Bola Sol’s book “How to save it – fix your finances” for all participating students will be a great help when managing their future income and budget.
