New Ways To Reading Fluency With Microsoft Teams
Being able to read with confidence, speed and accuracy is vital to academic success, so to support students on their reading journeys we are now using a new feature of Microsoft Teams called 'Reading Progress'.
Students complete reading exercises based on their specific reading levels, record their reading, and upload their best result. This online tool helps to develop a better understanding of texts and enhances strong literacy skills.
“It’s good because it tells you which words you didn’t pronounce correctly and if you missed any words," said Hamza, Year 9. "I like that you can choose a word to listen to.”
The software automatically identifies words that students struggled with and generates exercises to help them with these. Audio and visuals help with the correct pronunciation and separating into syllables. Fluency assignments help students focus on practice and growth, while completing the task independently in a quiet environment empowers students to perform without pressure.
