Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge - Public Speaking Competition!
On Wednesday 15 April three of our best public speakers in Year 10 were selected to represent the Academy at the prestigious Southwark Final of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. Georgette , Sarah and Sodiq all put in stellar performances speaking on a range of topics from prejudice to anti-smoking. All three spoke eloquently and knowledgably on their chosen topics. They were up against some pretty stiff completion from the other finalists and Georgette was awarded 4th place. Georgette spoke about school lunch. She certainly has some interesting and original views on how they can be improved! The English department went along to support the students and are extremely proud of their performances.
