London Metropolitan Visit
On Thursday 12 March 19 Post 16 Health and Social Care students went to visit the north London campus of London Metropolitan University. The students were greeted by Chris Lane who is the Leader for the Faculty of Social Sciences. Chris gave an introduction into the course of Health and Social care and also spoke about university life at London Metropolitan. After the presentation the students were taken on a tour of the campus; visiting the newly designed LRC and library, as well as the university canteen and gym. After lunch the students were given a final talk from Tracey O’Neill who is course leader for the Foundation Degree in Public Health at the university. Tracey gave the students a detailed presentation about the course, students grade expectations and future job roles after university.
Students feedback from the visit was positive, and been invited back for an open day later in the year. The visit to the university was highly beneficial for all the students as it gave them inspiration to apply for higher education and further develop their knowledge.
