Immersion into the Theatre
Immersion into the Theatre….
On Wednesday 11th October, our Year 11 GCSE Drama class went to the Half Moon Theatre to watch a new production of, ‘What Once Was Ours’. Created against the background of Brexit, What Once Was Ours has been developed through direct contact with young people across the country and uses their words and opinions to explore how politics and national values impact on the complex lives of one family.
Beautiful imagery, striking original music and immersive design combine to create this powerful new production for young people, which asks why we’ve become so fearful of anyone who is different from us.
As an immersive show, our students were fully engaged in the production, enthralled with the development of character, plot and theme. Year 11’s will have to write a theatre review on the play as part of their GCSE exam. All student behaved impeccably and were a credit to Harris Academy Peckham and their parents.
