Philosophy Foundation

This week our RE department have started working with the philosophy foundation to run workshops with Year 7 students. The goal being to stretch students analysis and critical thinking skills as well as building good oracy practice. The sessions aim to allow students to reflect on abstract issues (e.g.: “What is ‘good’) and have such views challenged and explored by their peers. Over time students will be expected to take lead in the dialogue, questioning each other and pushing for the expansion of points independently. We are excited to see how students develop their discussion of philosophy throughout this program and how this impacts their future class discussions and extended writing.
