Winter Wonderland visit

On Friday 16th December Year 7 students had the opportunity to enjoy and experience a very important and traditional part of German culture. Traditional Christmas markets take place in Germany from mid-November until mid-December to celebrate the wintery time and the Christmas spirit. Students had the opportunity to saviour a wide selection of seasonal culinary specialties including Bratwurst and for those with a sweet tooth, roasted nuts, gingerbread hearts, confectionary and crepes. Numerous wooden chalets in a traditional Bavarian style with special illuminations sold a wide range of unusual gifts all in a magical winter atmosphere. Students had the opportunity to practice their German numbers and learn new vocabulary.
