London South Bank University Visit

On Thursday 26 February Year 12 and 13 Health and Social Care students were taken to London South Bank University to visit the Department of Health. The trip was extremely successful and productive. All students were thoroughly engaged and enthused throughout the day, developing their knowledge on potential university courses they could study, with a particular focus on the range of nursing disciplines.  Students were made aware of the difference between courses and professions, and what to expect from Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health Professions courses, as well as had the chance to develop their knowledge of Sign Language and Emergency Care (demonstrating CPR and using a Defibrillator). The day most certainly raised the student’s aspirations, further motivating them to not only go to university but to study one of the courses.
