Inner London Crown Court
On Wednesday 18 May Year 10 Citizenship students visited the Inner London Crown Court. The students had the rare opportunity to talk to a circuit judge and sit in court during three different court proceedings. The students benefited from seeing the role of a judge, a barrister, probation staff and other court staff during court proceedings. They had the opportunity to ask questions about their role and career. One barrister explained the case he was prosecuting in further detail, which really helped in breaking down the terminology used during proceedings. The students asked very insightful questions about the criminal justice system and received useful feedback which will help support their Controlled Assessment project.
