Chief examiner visits HAP
On Friday 26th February, AS Business and Economics students had the privilege of hearing from Ian Marcousé (former Chief/Principal Examiner in Business). The lessons, over a double period, involved students in activities to reinforce their understanding of business and economic situations so that they could practice the skills of applying their knowledge of theory to analyse complex problems thus giving them an understanding of the necessary components for attaining top marks in the exam.
Using his years of experience as both a teacher and an examiner, Mr Marcousé was able to build students confidence about how to approach their examinations and shared key pointers guaranteed to lead to exam success.
Year 12 pupils were active in participating in the session and asked questions demonstrating their passion for the subject. Pupils left the sessions motivated ahead of their mock examinations next week with one student exclaiming “I now understand how to improve my grade” and another stating that “This has helped me to plan how to enhance my revision”.
