Royal Holloway University visit
On Monday 14 December six Year 12 and 13 students were welcomed by the Royal Holloway University Law and Politics Department for a series of lectures and workshop on Human Rights. After an introductory lecture from the Faculty Leader, students were divided into workshop to debate on of the key issues raised in the lecture. Should prisoners be entitled to vote? In the afternoon, a second lecture featuring case studies of Human rights law were presented by the Law Department, followed by another workshop in which students discussed matters arising from one of the case studies that had been presented. The students appreciated the opportunity of working with A Level students from across London, and sharing their views on some, at times, quite controversial issues.
