HAP Singers Win Prize at Cadogan Hall
We're delighted to annouce that our 'a cappella' singers Hapaphonix came third in the Jack Petchey Perfect Pitch competition last Sunday, having won our regional final in Chelmsford in January.
Jack Petchey’s Perfect Pitch is a free music education project focussed on teaching a cappella music skills to young people.
The final took place at Cadogan Hall in London, with HAP's Hapaphonix singers winning £200 and a trophy, after singing a Beatles Medley and Lean on Me. 'A cappella' is singing without musical accompaniment.
“I really enjoyed performing at the Jack Petchey Perfect Pitch competition!" said Yeray, age 15 "The standard of all the performers was great and to get third place at the Grand Final is amazing! I am proud of Team Hapaphonix!”
Associate Assistant Principal Kerry Rogers said: "The whole process was excellently planned and the support we received was excellent. Our students loved performing at Cadogan Hall – what a great opportunity for them!”
